The key point is that any configuration developed for CE is fully compatible with EE. This means there is no loss of functionality and no need to rewrite the configuration file from scratch. The configurations and setups implemented on CE can be used directly on EE without any modification. The goal is to ensure a transparent upgrade experience, which is possible because KrakenD keeps syntax and structure compatible between CE and EE.

The PRO version of the Enterprise Edition allows up to 50 instances in production (a single KrakenD server instance or Docker container can handle tens of thousands of requests per second). There is also the UNLIMITED option, with no instance limit, priced at twice the PRO version.
