NET-P – Network Planner
- Analysis of network resources, services and customers through a georeferenced web interface.
- Supports planning, operations, sales and regulatory activities.
- Efficiency and speed in producing quotes to meet demand.
- Unified information and tools for troubleshooting and provisioning.
“A correct view of the network is essential for network evolution, control and maintenance projects. Because of the size, complexity and amount of data a network can reach, the process of mapping, searching and decision-making becomes more complex and costly for network professionals, increasing the likelihood of failures and poorly optimized solutions.”
NET-P uses the previously loaded network data to generate an interactive, georeferenced map of the network that supports filtering and search, helping users get views that let them make more accurate, precise decisions in less time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is building multi-technology, multivendor NETWORK VISIBILITY so important — and at the same time so challenging — for a Telecom Operator’s business processes?
Practically all of an Operator’s or ISP’s business processes are directly related to its Telecommunications Network and its situation in terms of occupancy (or availability) of installed capacity. All planning depends on confirming whether customer demand can be met and the cost involved, if any, to make it possible.
In many cases, the network will need to be expanded to meet new demand; in others, the demand can be met — and new revenue generated — with the network already installed and in operation, without expanding it.
Broad visibility of the live network, across its various technologies and vendors, is essential to support planning, operations and expansion decisions. However, the dynamism of the live network, its continuous growth, new technologies, many vendors and new services make keeping that visibility broad and up to date a real challenge.
What use cases can NET-P address?
NET-P can support a variety of use cases, such as inventory synchronization, alarm correlation, a unified view of networks and services, among others. Specific requests can be evaluated and met through custom development.
What types of networks does NET-P support?
The NET-P platform supports several optical network technologies, microwave radio, satellite systems and IP networks, through specific crawlers and modules.
What challenges does NET-P set out to solve?
NET-P is developed around the telecommunications network planning and management challenges we have seen throughout our experience working with the biggest players in the market. The main ones are:
- A large increase in network demand with high operating costs;
- Networks with multiple vendors, technologies and service scenarios across different regions;
- Network searches that are slow and more error-prone;
- Network information scattered across different databases and management platforms;
- Highly complex network visualization and mapping with little automation.
What solutions has NET-P already delivered?
We always work on and improve NET-P together with our customers, which lets us create solutions precisely aligned with organizations’ problems and needs. The main examples:
- Mapping and analysis of networks with different vendors and technologies (Microwave Radio, Optical Fiber, Satellite, IP);
- Automated collection of network data and modeling in a unified database;
- Georeferenced map visualization;
- Feasibility analysis of traffic routing on the network;
- Valuable information for different areas of the company;
- KPI monitoring.
In addition, NET-P was built to be customizable, allowing the platform to handle more specific cases and environments without losing the benefits of the solution.
How does NET-P generate its information?
NET-P collects infrastructure data using the same extraction technology we developed for NEEX (Net Crawlers) — a scan of our customers’ data wherever it is: databases, management systems, files, etc. Once collected, this data is modeled and turned into information according to the platform’s use cases.
How does NET-P collect network information and keep it up to date?
NET-P is fed by Target’s solution called NEEX (Network Extractor). NEEX uses specific crawlers to collect, process, model and enrich data extracted from various sources in order to create and constantly update its multivendor, multi-technology knowledge base.
What are Net Crawlers?
Net Crawlers are the components of the NEEX solution responsible for communicating with management systems or network equipment and collecting the necessary data. They “speak” the same language as these devices and translate the collected data so it can be used by NET-P or other systems.
Is NET-P a Telecommunications network planning tool?
Besides greatly simplifying network Planning work for the Engineering team, NET-P also provides important information and features for the Operations, Regulatory, Sales and Business Strategy areas of operators and Internet service providers.
Does NET-P need to be installed on servers located on the customer’s premises?
The NET-P platform can run on your own infrastructure (On Premises), on cloud service providers (Cloud) or in a hybrid model.
How is NET-P sold?
The platform is modular: you can purchase specific modules for the network technology you need, with specific crawlers for the types of equipment and systems in your network. Specific features can be contracted as custom software development.
